Hi friends! Popping in from Boston today for a little Friday Link Love.
I surprised my family and flew home for Passover. You might remember that I surprised my dad last February, but this time he was actually in on the surprise! He knew me being home for Passover would make it extra special for my mom. I took the redeye from LA and landed in Boston bright and early this morning. My dad snuck out of the house to pick me up from the airport. Let’s just say I really shocked the rest of my family this morning when I walked in the door!
Maybe one day I will actually let my whole family know when I am coming home…but for now the shock factor is just too much fun.
Now onto some link love! Here are a few links I found this week that I thought you guys would love as much as I did. Enjoy!
1. The Organizational-guru in me LOVES these clever organizational tips from Real Simple. I mean, storing ribbon on a paper towel holder…genius!? Way better than in a box under my bed…
2. I will be the first to admit that I get sucked into the world of social media sometimes (Instagram, I am looking at you!). So many of us get caught up thinking that everyone else’s lives are “perfect” because of what they display on the internet. With almost everyone taking selfies and posting photos of their post-gym bodies, I can seriously appreciate this “real look” at before and after photos online.
3. My BFF Emily and I had a great conversation about portion control recently. She just got back from a trip to Canyon Ranch, where portion sizes are what they should be, as opposed to the typical insane portions served at most restaurants. As I’m actively trying to be more careful about how much I put on my plate, I loved this Food Network display of what 100-calories looks like in the form of different types of food.
4. My friend, Serena, recently started a blog called Cook the Look. Serena is a genius in the kitchen (she comes from a family of restauranteurs) and she knows makeup and beauty like no one else. Her makeup and skin are always flawless, so I loved reading her tutorial on creating the perfect golden glow. Plus, she’s a model, so this girl knows what she’s talking about!
I think a trip to Sephora is in order for me this weekend. It looks like I have a lot of new makeup to stock up on!
That’s it from me! Happy Passover and Easter to those of you celebrating. I am so excited to dive into my mom’s delicious cooking tonight – brisket and matzoh ball soup have been calling to me allllll week long!
I’ll catch you guys next week after the holiday weekend.
