I’m stopping in this morning to share a few pictures I snapped on my phone this weekend. Travis was away on business, so it was just Bessie and me holding down the fort.
Since you all know how much Bessie likes sending text messages, she insisted on taking a few selfies to send to her daddy. Of course, I obliged.
What a little camera hog she is!
I had a work event on Saturday night at a club in West Hollywood. We were catering food for a magazine cover launch party. Below are two of the delicious items we brought: rice-free sushi rolls made with almond “rice” and wagyu beef carpaccio crostini. YUM.
Off the side of the kitchen there was a closet filled with the CREEPIEST ventriloquist dummies I have ever seen. Of course, I had to take a photo with them, but I couldn’t even keep a straight face knowing that I am now officially cursed because I mocked them. CREEEEP-Y.
I was exhausted by the time I got home on Saturday night, so I couldn’t even say no to Bessie when she BEGGED me to sleep in the bed.
She curled up next to me and slept like an angel until about 3AM, when she woke me up by licking my face. This dog has no concept of time, so she probably thought it was a perfectly reasonable time for some good ol’ face licking. Unfortunately, I had a lot of trouble getting back to bed after that so Bessie and I got up around 6AM to start our Sunday.
I tried to make the best of it by making my favorite breakfast, protein pancakes, while digging into a new cookbook.
I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the apartment and doing 837,934,201 loads of laundry. (Yes, that many). While the clothes were in the dryer, I decided to throw together a delicious batch of my cardamom granola to bring to work this week. If you haven’t tried this granola yet, YOU MUST. It’s the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and spicy.
I ended my Sunday night by finishing Big Love (yeah, I know I am years behind on that one, but MAN was that show good!) and digging into this homemade Greek salad with grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, and feta.
I hope your week is off to a great start!
