Hey friends! Happy Friday! I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the weekend, and if you’re celebrating Easter or Passover this weekend, I hope you have a great time with family and friends. Travis and I observe Passover, which begins tonight at sundown. During the eight days of Passover we don’t eat any bread products, and instead we eat an unleavened flatbread called matzah. If you observe Passover or just happen to like matzah, I linked to two of my favorite matzah recipes at the bottom of this post. 😉
Alright, let’s get into my list of What I’m Loving Lately this month!
Trader Joe’s Sweet Plantain Chips
I’m not sure if I am the last person on earth to have discovered these, but holy cow are these Trader Joe’s Sweet Plantain Chips good! They’re perfectly crunchy and just the right amount of sweet. There are only two ingredients in these chips: plantains and palm olein, so they’re naturally gluten-free and contain no added sugars. I plan on snacking on these all throughout Passover this coming week. I already regret not buying two bags!
Wine.com
Since moving to NYC, I’ve struggled to find reasonably priced wine. We were lucky in California because wine was sold in regular grocery stores, and we were able to find our favorite bottles on sale fairly often. After seeing crazy markups on wine here, I turned to the internet to look for a better option. I’ve seen countless ads and coupons for Wine.com over the years, but it wasn’t until January that I browsed their selection.
Wine.com has a fantastic selection of wine, carrying different varietals from around the globe in a wide range of prices. I finally was able to find some of our favorite wines at decent prices. Plus, Wine.com is always running a promotion, like my favorite 1 cent shipping sale, where you only pay 1 cent to ship as many bottles as you want. Since we no longer have a car, having wine delivered (especially if we’re hosting an event at our apartment) makes life SO much easier.
Berkshire Blankets
These Berkshire Blankets are the softest blankets under the sun. When we first moved to NYC, I bought one at TJ Maxx as a throw for our couch, and I recently had to buy another one to use at the end of our bed because Bessie loves it SO much. They’re the grey throw blankets you see featured in both my living room and bedroom posts. They come in a wide range of colors and sizes, so you can find one to match every room.
The key to keeping these blankets extra soft and pill-free is to let them air dry after you wash them in the machine. It might seem like a pain, but I just lay ours out on the couch and it dries within 4 hours or so. After countless washes, ours are just as soft as when I first bought them.
LeSportSac Makeup Bags
My friends at LeSportSac sent me some adorable accessories last month, and I can’t get enough of them! How cute are these food-themed makeup bags? I keep one in my purse at all times that holds things like mints, hair elastics, Advil, chapstick, etc. I love having one little kit that I can easily transfer between purses. Unfortunately these prints are sold out now, but they have so many other cute patterns. Thanks LeSportSac!
Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree
Travis and I like having plenty of plants and greenery in our apartment because, otherwise, we are surrounded by lots and lots of brick and concrete (NYC life for ya!). My favorite plant in our apartment is the Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree. Surprisingly, I ordered ours on Etsy! Back in November, I knew I wanted a Fiddle Leaf Fig, so I turned to Google to see where I could buy one, and I came across this listing on Etsy. I was pretty wary of ordering a plant from Etsy, especially one that would have to travel all the way across the country, but the seller had fantastic reviews and was offering free shipping. (Note: The one I linked here is slightly smaller than the one I ordered, but the original listing appears to have been taken down.)
I definitely do not have a green thumb, but I’ve found this tree to be very easy to care for. I leave it in bright indirect light by an east-facing window and water it when the top soil becomes dry. If you get good natural light in your home or apartment, I highly recommend one of these beautiful indoor trees. It adds so much color and life to our living area.
