Hey there! I am heading out of town today for a wedding in San Diego, but before I go I wanted to pop in and share this month’s list of What I am Loving Lately. This month I’ve included a pretty versatile assortment of items, ranging from health supplements to home decor, but my goal is that hopefully you find something that is helpful for you.
Let’s get into it!
Garden of Life Women’s Multi-Vitamin Fruit Chews
I love these vitamins! I recently decided to start taking a women’s multi-vitamin, and I wanted to try a gummy version so they would at least be “fun” to eat and I would maybe be more likely to remember to take them. But I’ll tell ya, it is NOT easy to find a good quality gummy vitamin out there that isn’t packed with added sugar. It’s a vitamin — why all the sugar!? I researched a few options and scoured the online reviews before finally deciding to order these Garden of Life Women’s Multi Vitamins. They’re sweetened naturally with fruit, not added sugar, and actually taste delicious! I always crave sweet things after a savory meal, so these gummies are the perfect little treat to satisfy my sweet tooth, while also benefitting my body.
Gamma Ray Blue Light Blocking Glasses
Last month I went to the eye doctor for my annual eye exam. I’ve worn glasses since I was in 4th grade and my vision has only gotten worse over the years. I thought my vision change was slowing down, until this most recent exam when I learned my vision has gotten even worse in the last year — ugh. The doctor told me that I need to be better about wearing my glasses (not my contacts) while I am on the computer, and he encouraged me to take frequent breaks from staring at the screen.
I know that I strain my eyes from staring at my laptop on a daily basis, but it wasn’t until that appointment that I realized how much it really was affecting me. I decided to buy a pair of eye strain reducing glasses on Amazon and I am so glad that I did. You can’t tell from the photo, but these glasses have a slight yellow tint to them and help reduce the amount of blue light that hits your eyes. There is mixed research about the effect of blue light on your eyes, but doctors seem to agree that minimizing the amount of blue light you take in before bed results in better sleep.
Within minutes of wearing these glasses my eyes felt more relaxed when working on the computer, especially in the evening. After a few weeks of wear, I truly feel that they have made a difference and I no longer get headaches after long hours of work.
There are many blue light blocking glasses on Amazon. I chose these ones because of the price and the fact that they were small enough for my very petite face (they still look huge though, ha!). I purchased the non-prescription lenses, but they also come as readers if that is something you need.
Califia Farms Unsweetened Almond Milk
I’ve tried pretty much every almond milk on the market, and this Califia Farms Unsweetened Almond Milk is by far my favorite. I use it daily in smoothies and in homemade almond milk lattes. We own a Nespresso machine, and we’ve found that most non-dairy milks don’t produce good froth like you get with regular cow’s milk…until this almond milk! It makes delicious, foamy non-dairy froth, perfect for homemade lattes.
A quick heads up: the price listed on their website shows $15 for two bottles, however I pay just $4.99 per bottle at Whole Foods. It’s on sale for $4.29 this week at my local Whole Foods, so there is a good chance it is at yours too, if it is carried.
Aerie Play 7/8th Leggings
I don’t have much to say about these leggings besides the fact that they are ridiculously soft and comfortable. The material is thin, so it feels like second skin, yet these leggings also somehow have the ability to compress and suck everything in — who knew that leggings could do both!? I bought them in navy and plan on snagging a few more colors because the price is soooo good. If you buy them, be forewarned that they look like they’re made for a 10 year old on the rack, but they’re very stretchy and true to size. And for petite ladies like me, you don’t have to hem these!
West Elm Belgian Flax Linen Bedding
I am not sure what took me so long to invest in a different set of bedding for warm weather, but I am so glad I did. Lately, I’ve been getting very warm in the middle of the night, so I started researching the best sheet sets and blankets for summer. I love our current West Elm sheet set and comforter cover, but it’s just too warm for a down comforter right now.
Wirecutter highly recommends the West Elm Belgian Flax Linen Sheet Set, which truthfully, I was hesitant to buy at first due to the price. Last week I noticed that they were on sale, so I decided to go for it because we also had some leftover store credit that we could apply towards the purchase.
We’ve only slept on these sheets for three nights now (so this review may be a little premature), but I already notice a difference. I have not woken up hot in the middle of the night, and as a result I feel much more rested in the morning.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Alright, that’s it from me. Make sure you’re following along on Instagram because I will be checking in there regularly throughout our time in San Diego!
